About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Operations to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have two direct reports, and have oversight of a team of 20, who are responsible for delivering first-class Venue Sourcing and Meeting & Event Planning services to our book of 30+clients. The Director of Operations will manage high quality and professional delivery of service within the operations teams. In this role, your responsibilities encompass many areas; management, strategic sourcing, people management, financial management, and relationship development.


As a Director of Operations you will:


  • Resource planning and recruitment process management to include training of all team members.
  • Understand all accounts within team and support consultants when issues arise and assist to resolve when necessary
  • Strategic sourcing – delivery of agreed client KPIs, manage client processes and procedures, manage research and inquiry, venue RFPs, GRME hotel response forms, contact list of suitable venues, submit proposals to client, negotiation, finalize details and request contracts.
  • Collaborate with the relevant Account Management team to report on activity within accounts and proactively assist in the development of the accounts
  • Be in charge of Motivation, engagement, development and performance management of direct reports.

Your background

  • Ten (10) years’ experience in the meetings industry.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in direct management, planning, and execution of meetings and events (preferably in agency or corporate environment).
  • Five (5) years’ experience managing outside vendors, sourcing and negotiating contract services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and developing presentations
  • The person in this role will love a fast-paced environment and problem solving.

You might also have

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • The ability to travel up to 15%
  • Experience in an SMM environment
You should know:
  • This is a work from home opportunity for candidates located in the United States. This role includes regular travel to New York.
  • Our standard working hours are 8:30 AM -5:30 PM with an hour break.
  • Covid vaccination might be required for this role.

The salary range for candidates located in New York City for the position of Director, Operations is between $90,000 and $120,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
