Position Role Type:

This position provides site leadership for the Burnsville, MN location. The Burnsville site produces sensors and integrated video systems that serve all three portfolios (Commercial Avionics, Business & Reginal Avionics & Military Avionics and Helicopters) for the Avionics strategic business unit with Collins Aerospace.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the execution of operations and projects to meet established targets and metrics, including 900 total employees.

  • Establishes and oversees long term organizational goals and objectives to ensure alignment with broader organizational targets and strategies.

  • Strategize and design production plans, balancing tactical and strategic demands considering product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules, and staffing requirements to meet operational objectives and business unit goals

  • Directs the development and implementation of activities in production areas to ensure timely, high-quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements

  • Serves as primary champion for quality improvement, CORE and Six Sigma programs at the sites - accountable for reduction of inventory, cost and waste

  • Drives improvement in productivity by implementing process automation and best practices

  • Develops strategic facilities plan and ensure cap-x alignment and on plan

  • Drives cost reduction and synergy plans across operations organization

  • Establishes strategy for a multi-functional team including EH&S, facilities, planning, manufacturing engineering, training, logistics and operations to ensure the Burnsville site operations meets business strategy goals and objectives.

  • Ensures adherence and execution to all EHS policies and procedures


Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Proven Leadership experience

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Utility talent with experience in roles within the value stream outside of Manufacturing

  • Ability to lead in challenging times (COVID, WOTF) and displays the change management acumen to lead people where they might not go themselves.

  • Experience in process automation preferred
