Salary:
$60,000 - $75,000 annual depending on experience

Lodge On The Desert, an authentic Old Pueblo experience and Arizona landmark, is a 100-room boutique hotel designed for leisure and business travelers alike. Situated on five acres in Midtown Tucson, set against the majestic backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mountains, its charming hacienda-style accommodations, lush grounds, and historic charm make it Tucson's urban oasis and an Old Pueblo masterpiece.

The Director of Operations supports the successful execution of all hotel operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance with involvement in Food & Beverage. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the department's financial performance. Ensures that standards and procedures are being followed. Supports the General Manager and leads the team while assisting with meeting or exceeding property goals.


Supporting the Operations Team:

  • Ensures that goals are being translated to the team related to guest tracking and productivity.
  • Understands employee and guest satisfaction results and communicates game plans to address need areas and expand on the strengths.
  • Assists in ensuring that the team has the capabilities to meet expectations.
  • Leads by example, demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Assists employees in understanding guests ever-changing needs and expectations and exceeding them.

Managing and Monitoring Activities that Affect the Guest Experience:

  • Provides excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable to all guests.
  • Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns.
  • Extends professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
  • Responds timely to customer service department requests.
  • Ensures all team members meet or exceed all hospitality requirements.

Assisting in Managing Profitability:

  • Assists in performing required annual Quality audit with GM & RDO.
  • Ensures a viable critical control program is in place.
  • Understands financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data.
  • Assists with scheduling for both departments ensuring productivity goals are being met.
  • Completes Inventories for each outlet, such as Bistro and Market, for proper levels, product standards, and pricing.
