Northwestern State University invites applications for the position of Director of Marketing and Branding.

Under the supervision of the Executive Assistant to the President and Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Director of University Marketing and Branding develops and executes internal and external marketing content, completes projects to support institutional objectives and directs the overarching strategic marketing goals for the university

The Director of University Marketing and Branding should have proficient multimedia expertise in creating and editing high impact visual content, budgeting for advertising purposes, utilizing social media, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This person will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team whose initiatives are intended for use with diverse audiences. The content created will play a vital role in the effectiveness of overall marketing/communications efforts in enhancing the university's image. The person must work effectively with university personnel, administrators, students, and external partners on projects that align with the university's scope and mission.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required (master's degree is preferred) with 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated multimedia skills in photography, videography, design, editing and producing video, graphics, and published material. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is required.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of marketing and social media platforms and analytics and how each can be utilized for communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment utilizing strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding visual and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of design trends and industry best practices and a willingness to stay current with industry technology.

  • Ensure the NSU brand and graphic identity are protected and adhered to
  • Lead and/or assist in developing marketing strategies, content, and materials to support academics, recruiting, retention, the student experience, alumni and the NSU Foundation to underpin the university's strategic framework.
  • Develop content for advertising, print media, social media, support materials, web pages and other platforms.
  • Collaborate with team members in developing concepts to create and execute projects aligned with university policy and guidelines.
  • Analyze metrics of marketing effectiveness as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs/campaigns.
  • Multi-task and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines, prioritizing resources, and directing junior staff for best outcomes.
  • Demonstrate exceptional professionalism, customer service and brand advocacy.
  • Complete and/or contribute to other duties and special projects as assigned.
