What you’ll be working on:

  • Provide the leadership to create a world-class manufacturing team involved in the design and production of prefabrication and modular construction solutions for the data, telecom, and industrial markets.
  • Lead and direct the Manufacturing Operations function, to obtain optimum productivity, while reaching strategic goals
  • Recruit, develop, and train a high-performance team
  • Drive change transformation and strategy execution to achieve business results
  • Develop long-term plans that impact the achievement of business results
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes are optimized for each product and that process controls are in place
  • Develop comprehensive site capital and maintenance budgets consistent with business plans
  • Provide general logistics support to manufacturing floor such as processing material requisitions, sub-assembly paperwork closure and material relocation
  • Designs, implements and leads best-in-class business process including manufacturing systems optimization, supply chain development, customer satisfaction and quality improvements
  • Oversees technical and professional development of the Manufacturing Operations function
  • Serve as the principal company Manufacturing interface with the market and customers providing cost effective solutions for their needs.
  • Lead in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction practices.
  • Responsible for the technical accuracy, quality and cost effectiveness of the manufacturing operation.
  • Provide manufacturing leadership in problem solving and troubleshooting of issues or problems.
  • Create a team oriented working environment that fosters growth, accountability & fun.
  • Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate the Manufacturing staff to achieve excellence.
  • Facilitate, direct and drive implementation of Lean Business strategy and drive Continuous Improvement across all manufacturing related areas of the business.
  • Lead value manufacturing and design optimization efforts coordinating with manufacturing to ensure the efficient production of deliverables.
  • Lead the daily Manufacturing operation to ensure assigned tasks are delivered within budget, on schedule and in accordance with established policies and procedures of RKMC.

What is expected of a Director of Manufacturing:

  • Strong leadership skills and work ethic to enable the creation of a highly capable and sustainable Manufacturing and Operations Function
  • Engineering degree or equivalent of relevant education and work experience; MBA is a plus.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, Production and Construction
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, supervise, hire, develop, and mentor talented manufacturing resources.
  • Experience in the construction/prefabrication/modularization industries
  • Demonstrated success in change management, problem solving, and solution development.
  • Action-oriented and innovative in leading the Manufacturing and Operations Function
  • Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results
  • Skilled in manufacturing processes of modular businesses
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvements
  • Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence
  • Outstanding interpersonal with ability to build relationships with employees & customers.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance
  • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, and problem solving skills
  • Experience and technical understanding of data centers, data center modules, and modular processes.

How you make Safety your top priority:

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
  • RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to climb up and down and maintain balance on stairs, ladders and scaffolds while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Ability to see (naturally or with correction).
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach, handle or manipulate and install heavy objects and materials.
  • Ability to balance, kneel, squat, crouch, bend, lean, stand, walk, climb, dig, backfill and compact.
