Summary


The Director of Global Nursing is a Full-Time, 12 Month Faculty Position that will develop, administer, and promote the Nursing Global Partnerships for the School of Nursing. The Director will develop external relationships to guide and develop the delivery of global nursing programs, with attention to student learning and mutually agreed upon goals and objectives with and internal constituents and partnering agencies. Fifty percent of time will be spent on Global Nursing and 50% in a faculty role teaching in the MSN and/or DNP program.


Essential Functions:


  • Work collaboratively with the Regis College Center for Global Connections, designated personnel from partner countries, and advisory board members and collaborators, in securing a global effort of advancing nursing care across the globe.
  • Lead the Committee for Global Nursing at Regis- a group of faculty, students and outside constituents who serve in an advisory role on global nursing projects.
  • Provide guidance to lead nursing faculty on grant securement, delivery of nursing care and/or education to the partnering country of origin.
  • Provide leadership and academic support, serving as faculty mentor for international doctoral or post-master nurse fellows, in preparation and throughout their residencies in partner countries.
  • Work with colleagues across Regis College in an advisory role for all international nursing programs, including faculty development and service learning and clinical trips.
  • Oversee the current Global Health Partnerships in Grenada and the Haiti Project.
  • Develop and direct the grant funding process and proposals for the Global Health Programs (Haiti, etc.) to ensure the continuous delivery of services.
  • Oversee the Regis Haiti Project working in collaboration with Regis’ partners at the Haitian Ministry of Health to support the implementation of the Faculty of Nursing within the State University in Haiti (UEH); work with project managers and Haitian nurse leaders in implementing and executing the processes and tasks required for the advancement of nursing education programs.
  • Plan and implement the delivery of the current Global Health Program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization.
  • Advise lead nursing faculty with global nursing efforts including curriculum development and adaptation, and international programming for faculty and nursing students.
  • Develop and direct program evaluation and monitoring frameworks to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program as well as new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders and partnerships from various sectors and communities.
  • Oversee the annual budget and operating plan to support the program, including fund raising, reporting and monitoring of fund allocations for Global Health Programs and the Haiti Project.
  • Work closely with Center for Global Connections at Regis, designated international partners and collaborators in securing efforts for the advancement of nursing care across the globe.
  • Mentor and advise Haitian nursing students enrolled in the online Regis DNP Program.


Additional Requirements:


  • Attendance at Faculty meetings.
  • Teach courses in DNP and MSN programs.
  • Performs other team related duties as required.


Supervisor Responsibility:


  • Regis in Haiti Project Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Regis College’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Requirements:


  • Requires a doctoral degree in nursing, or related field with relevant professional experience in global health including program and grant development and delivery.
  • French or Haitian Creole language skills, a plus.
  • Ability to uphold the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and personnel management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with ability to conduct effective meetings virtually and in-person.
  • Scholarship in writing, teaching and mentoring.
  • Strong time and project management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and to adapt processes as required by program and personnel.


Working Conditions/Physical Demands:


  • Must be willing to workdays, evenings, weekends and/or holidays to meet the needs of the University calendar and projects as needed; the standard schedule requires a minimum of 35 hours per week.
  • Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
  • Regularly uses computer keyboard, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
  • More than half of time spent in normal office setting.
