The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and financial planning of the Hotel. Ensure the smooth running of a company's finances by assessing financial markets, identifying solutions to financial issues, developing strategies to increase profitability, and preparing periodical reports.


TASKS & DUTIES

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements
  • Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process. Review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting
  • Implement a robust contract management and financial management/ reporting system
  • Ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
  • To work closely and communicate effectively with the other Department Heads to better the operational & financial results of the company
  • To be part of the senior management team, this involves carrying management on Duty as and when required
  • To provide support to General Manager and Head Office on all matters with financial implications
  • Oversee all personnel within the accounting department which includes: Assistant Controller, Payroll Manager & Income Audit, General Cashier/Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Manager, IT Manager and Guest Relations and train them accordingly
  • To ensure all financial systems of bookkeeping, accounting and internal controls are adhered to throughout the hotel in accordance with standard accounting procedures and are to the needs of the company
  • To be responsible for establishing and ensuring purchasing procedures are followed in accordance with company policy
  • To be fully responsible for the management of Cash throughout the hotel including the control of cash banks, cash collections/banking and petty cash payments
  • To review and develop internal financial controls within the Company
  • Responsible of preparation, monitor and control of CAPEX items in accordance with company guidelines
  • Ensure the Hotel is in compliance with all permits and licenses required
  • Lead Internal and external audit process
  • Monitor KPI’s in order to develop strategies to increase profitability and keep cost and expenses under control
  • Stay abreast of current market trends and patterns and act accordingly

Occasionally required to pull, push, move, carry and lift at least 10 pounds of force

Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, write, type and hold objects with hands

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate with guests and co-workers

The ideal candidate for this position

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or at least 10 year experience in the field.
  • In depth knowledge of accounting software, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
  • Communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Ability to delegate
  • Ability to connect different departments towards company’s goals and targets
  • Analytical, logical and numerical thinking.
  • Proficient in strategy development
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge about GAAP
  • Strong knowledge in taxes, labor and other regulations
  • Ability to translate financial concepts to colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds
  • Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external clients
