The Holliston Extended Day Program strives to provide the child with an environment in which they can safely explore, discover, create, and grow. Children are supervised at all times while participating in program activities to ensure the health and safety of each child. The Extended Day staff recognizes the uniqueness and importance of each child and strives to create experiences wherein each child can learn to make choices, discover new pastimes, and explore new ideas in an environment that is safe, supportive, and creative. Holliston Public School District is seeking an Extended Day Director to create, foster and maintain a robust and enriching environment for the day-to-day management and operations of the HPS After-School Program for PreK thru Grade 8. The Extended Day program runs from 5 days per week. In addition to our school-year program, we have a Summer Oasis camp program.

This position will provide overall administration of the after-school and Summer Oaisis Programs that has 3 groups: PreK, K-4 and 5-8. All programs share the same philosophy, yet each has its own, unique, age-appropriate goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or higher in Education preferred
• Experience in developing engaging programming appropriate for age groups throughout the school year with both in/outdoor activities that fosters a sense of well being and belonging for both staff and students
• Ability to supervise and support a team and additional community partners
• Ability to multitask and coordinate daily activities including student attendance, tuition collection and management and parent communication
• Complies with HPS program policies and procedures
• Maintain all students records in accordance with DESE guidelines.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills to collaborate with school-day teachers, staff and administration and parents
• Serve as a positive adult role model for staff, students and parents through appropriate speech, courtesy and enthusiasm
• Strong leadership skills
• Sensitivity to and/or experience in working with children and adults from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
• CPR Certified

Duties and Functions:

• Implement daily programming with enthusiasm and competence
• Reflect and document effectiveness of programming, including student engagement.
• Ensure student safety by developing check ins for all programs (attendance, pick up) and train staff to respond appropriately to any behavior or emergency situations
• Manage group leader assignments and schedules to maintain appropriate student ratios
• Assist with staff and program evaluations
• Support the annual registration process
• Coordinate communication with parents of program participants
• Develop professional development and train staff
• Coordinate staff schedules and recruit/retain staff
• Evaluation/ supervision of all program staff
