We are looking for a Director of Clinical Services to work in our Residential Options department!

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Days + some evenings and on-call as needed.

Location: Alton, RO Admin Office + assigned sites

Salary: TBD

Travel Required: 25-40% between IL sites to travel to meetings, trainings or transport residents.

Reports to : the Vice President of Residential Options.

Position Summary:

The Director of Clinical Services provides individual and group therapy for CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) and ICF residents with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities which allow them opportunities to live in a home-based environment—achieving the highest level of independence possible.

The Director provides clinical supervision, compliance review, and training to staff for the Medicaid Rehabilitation Option (MRO) program for CILA Residents. This position screens new Residents, provides therapy, completes mental health assessments, provides crisis intervention, refers for treatment, participates in resident meetings and committees, and assists the V.P. (Vice President). with regulatory compliance and public relations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Residential Relations: Promote a culture of person-centered services that advances the Company’s mission to provide quality care and services in a community-based setting to individuals with disabilities. Ensure a high rate of resident satisfaction. Recruit, screen, and interview prospective residents. Complete IM+CANS (Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Strengths) with CILA Residents and facilitate CILA consumer services. Attend all DD (Developmental Disabilities) Resident IATP staffing meetings and ISP/IHP staffing meetings at the request of the VP, Director of Residential Services, or Residential Site Manager.
  • Oversee the MRO CILA program: Plan, organize, and supervise the delivery of individual and group therapy to residential residents. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of DHS Rule 132 and ensure compliance with Rule 132 guidelines. Review MRO notes for clinical documentation and service provision. Provide MRO training and review MRO billing to ensure each facility meets contract expectations. Provide monthly clinical supervision at each facility participating in the MRO program. Complete reports and communicate key information to the VP of Residential Options in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner. Proactively engage and support Residential Directors and RSMs (Residential Site Manager) as needed in overseeing the MRO program.
  • Effective Therapy for Residents: Observe residents’ appearance, affect, behavior, etc. and promptly follow up on the observations that cause concern or are out of the ordinary. Provide individual and group therapy for CILA and ICF/DD Residents at the request of the VP, Director Residential Services, or Residential Site Manager. Take the lead when a resident from one of the mental health CILA homes is in crisis.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in ensuring that each facility meets state, federal, and CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) regulatory guidelines. Take a lead role in DHS audits and represent the Company with the auditors by providing documentation and explanation. Assist with the evaluation of CILA facility managers at the request of the VP. Chair the Utilization Review committee to ensure compliance and review clinical issues. Participate in the Human Rights Committee. Assist in public relations for Residential Options.
  • Provide Clinical Training for Employees: Provide the Mental Health training portion of DSP training, communicating complex topics clearly and effectively. Provide clinical supervision to all three DMH funded sites. Assess current staff development needs with respect to providing mental health services; develop and deliver training at staff meetings to aid the staff in providing mental health services. Act as a fill-in DSP trainer as needed

Requirements

Education: Masters Degree in counseling or related field and meet the QMHP and LPHA (Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts) and LCPC or LCSW

Experience: 2+ years experience billing Medicaid in Illinois.

Certifications/ Licenses: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois (or able to obtain the LCPC/LCSW license within 1 year). CPR, 1st Aid, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and DSP training provided by the company must be successfully completed within the first 4 months to be certified. Passing CPR, 1st Aid, and CPI training is also required annually.

Pre-Employment Tests: Must pass state required TABE literacy assessment prior to employment

Background Checks: Must pass criminal background check.

Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.

Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check

Must pass driving history check and Company policy criteria, maintain valid driver’s license and be 21 or older to drive for Company-related travel.

Driving: Use of personal insured vehicle for Company-related travel is required. Frequently drives personally insured vehicle to travel to meetings, training or to transport residents.

Physical demands:

Sitting: Frequently sitting in the normal course of office-sedentary type work.

Standing: Occasionally standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting in the normal course of office-sedentary type work and for training workers.

Hearing, Speaking: Frequently listening to and speaking with managers, staff, and residents to communicate about requests, training needs and other concerns.

Seeing: Continually visually alert to monitor, to read and write or type documents, observe employee and resident interactions, and communicate with all.

Handling: Frequently using hands in writing and typing, and general office work.

Movement: Kneeling is required to perform CPR practice sessions; complete skills testing and use as required. Occasionally bending, reaching, and twisting; occasionally climbing stairs and/or ladders squatting.

Lifting: May need to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. to assist a Resident to their feet from a lying or sitting position, to help with walking or for the Resident to change positions.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
