Job Summary and Qualifications: Director of Children's Services

The Director of Children's Services is over Pediatrics, PICU and NICU

As the Nursing Director Children’s Services, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the unit. You will have the ability to identify what clinical resources are needed and will be responsible for the staffing and budget management of the unit. Our team works together like family, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about guiding the care of our most vulnerable patients. In this Director role:

  • You will have the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs: possesses knowledge of growth and development and have an understanding of the range of treatment needed for neonates.
    • You will be responsible for department staffing; hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
    • You will be able to communicate effective and execute actions, which assure quality patient care, demonstrating effective interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
    • You will develop and communicate a shared vision for the department consistent with the hospitals vision.
    • You will be skilled at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and work with them on training and development accordingly.
    • You will have the ability to effectively coordinate functions with staff, physicians and other departments of the hospital with a focus on patient safety

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
  • Bachelor’s (B.S.N.) degree required and/or Master’s (M.B.A., M.S.N. or M.H.A.) degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in acute care facility with progress leadership experience.
  • Current BLS, NRP and PALs certification (available after hire).

  • Appropriate certification for departments being supervised preferred (ANCC Board Certified Pediatric).

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
