Lead the Control Tower Manager group in the execution of Supply Chain’s Control Tower function to drive consistency across the organization, maximize performance, and optimize efficiency for the AD (Ahold Delhaize USA) Supply Chain, one of most extensive supply chain operations on the East Coast, encompassing 22 facilities at maturity, and delivering 1.1 billion cases to nearly 2,000 local brands' stores. Additionally, provide new solutions that will enhance the interactions between the components of Supply Chain and our Great Local Brands.

  • Process: Lead and inspire teams in the areas of Sales & Operations Planning and Supply Chain analytics to develop and establish a high performing and curiosity driven culture that will deliver high value visibility and insights into Supply Chain performance along with collaborative planning that ensures service level agreements are satisfied.
  • Interface: Ensure consistent reporting through the transition from current to future state, considering the best use of current, new and packaged solutions, and planning the decommissioning of redundant solutions.
  • Strategy: Demonstrate leadership expertise to establish strategic direction for the Control Tower process and guide operational problem solving and decision making as well as deep understanding of Supply Chain processes and business operations.

Key deliverable: Leading a team who will create visibility to the demand cycle and potential constraints. Use data to provide direction to operations (DC/Transportation/Demand/Logistics) on any potential or current challenges where action is needed. Work with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to remove barriers to optimization and ensure consistent understanding of Supply Chain health.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define the Control Tower vision, strategy and roadmap that is achievable and commercially viable across Supply Chain and govern the associated decisions. Drive coordination of the Control Tower planning process and development and ensure alignment with broader Brand strategic objectives.
  • Create visibility to the current levels of performance against Supply Chain SLA targets, holding Supply Chain accountable for meeting or exceeding those targets.
  • Develop, manage and understand Supply Chain’s interactions with the Brands; strengthen business perceptions of the value that Supply Chain is providing.
  • Direct Control Tower Manager team issue-based problem solving, solution delivery and ongoing relationship management to ensure strategic use of the Control Tower in support of Supply Chain objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, direct, motivate and develop the Control Tower Managers to create a team that is diverse in thinking, ability and perspective and leverages the strengths of each individual to achieve desired results and expectations. Provide support, resources, and information needed to help Managers achieve personal and team goals.
  • Stay abreast of innovations and technology trends within our industry and understand the impact on our organization/ interpret the mix of variables and information that can impact optimization.
  • Incorporate the innovation agenda into the Supply Chain IT strategy and roadmap to accelerate delivery of the business strategy in addition to establishing a work environment where there is excitement for change and innovation.
  • Additional responsibilities include soliciting and managing customer satisfaction with the Control Tower solutions and Control Tower Manager support and output, engaging cross functional leadership to deliver valuable, high quality insights and decision-making solutions.
  • Lead and/or serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed.

Context

  • Organizational context: Works with Supply Chain Leadership Team to develop consistent expectations and targets for the evaluation of the health of the Supply Chain. Partners with Supply Chain functional leadership to guide discovery of critical insights and activities that will improve Supply Chain performance. This role engages with the brands through the Supply Chain Functional areas.
  • Framework & guidelines: Through the Supply Chain Control Tower interface this position will be responsible for creating the performance measurement of record for the health of the supply chain.
  • Financial dimension: Through the successful execution of the Supply Chain Control Tower and S&OP process, efficiency will be brought that improves overall Supply Chain costs and improves service to the brands.
  • Degree of latitude: Guides work and analysis to areas of the Supply Chain seen as presenting the greatest opportunity for improvement. Support Supply Chain Leadership Team inquiries through detailed analysis of current state and potential future conditions

Interactions and relationships: The Director play as an advisory, facilitative, managerial and leadership role within the organization. This position interacts with all the Supply Chain functions and all levels of staff and management. This position collaborates with Supply Chain Leadership team. This position leads and manages the Control Tower team.

Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain networks and the interconnectivities and interdependencies between planning, procurement, operations, logistics, and retail.
  • Strong knowledge of and confirmed experience with S&OP / IBP, demand planning, inventory planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Have a broad understanding of analytical processes – including but not limited to data management, forecasting, optimization, and predictive modeling.
  • Understanding and thorough experience with legacy enterprise systems and data
  • Highly proficient in the following: all Microsoft Office apps, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, MicroStrategy

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in supply chain, analytics & insights, business administration or related field required
  • Masters Degree preferred

Experience:

  • 10 – 12 years related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Retail industry preferred
  • Must have demonstrated success driving change or transformation as a Supply Chain Leader, across Warehousing, Materials & Inventory Management, Planning & Scheduling, Supply Chain Systems (utilization & process improvement), & Customer Service.
  • Cross-functional project and team leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build cross-functional teams
