The Director of Channel Management is responsible for owning and driving overarching channel management strategy and end-to-end channel management process across all Brands and Supply Chain teams. Provides direction and oversight in leading the Channel Management team to reduce net landed cost and improve supply chain cost to serve. Responsible for the management and success of the Channel Management function within Procurement Services. The Director of Channel Management will champion team objectives with executive leadership within Procurement, D&T and the Great Local Brands, develop collaborative partnerships, promote a culture of optimization and continuous improvement, and oversee a team of subject matter experts for vendor and item level flowpath decision making. The Channel Management function mines needed data, develops tooling, generates insights, performs costing analysis, develops and provides vendor/item level recommendations that optimize the Supply Chain and Retail Operations. The team works closely with the Brands to drive a category-centric channel management process in alignment with the Category Review Process (e.g., new item cycles).

Essential responsibilities:

Vendor Flowpath Optimization : Oversee and lead the team responsible for anlyzing vendor supply chain health, review progress, fostering stakeholder relations at the leadership-level and serving as an escalation point to ensure tangible and measurable progress/outputs froom vendor flowpath optimization activities including:

  • Manage vendor flowpath analysis, vendor health and scorecarding, and net landed cost performance while ensuring proper procedures in place to support Category Review Cycle

  • Monitor adopted results of the category review cycle. Scorecard and govern results to ensure progress is made in a tangible measurable format. Communicate results and findings to leadership and key stakeholders

  • Manage team repsonse and bandwith to accomoodate adhoc supply chain vendor/item level analysis for key stakeholders

Leadership: Lead the organization to support the implementation of the Supply Chain Strategy controlling the flow of product from the vendors to the distribution centers and stores

  • Lead a best in class channel management organization for all facets and costing of product flowpath, facilitate partnerships with suppliers and category partners that internally will drive service and cost improvements.

  • Lead the organization to support the implementation of the Supply Chain Strategy controlling the flow of product from the vendors to the distribution centers and stores by ensuring supply chain participation and inputs into the Category Review Cycle.

Relationship Management: Develop strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders, maintain cross-functional connectivity to leadership within Procurement Services, Procurement, D&T, and the Great Local Brands Category Leadership Teams to foster collaboration and dynamic solutions.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with Senior Supply Chain & Brand Leadership, Category, Item Life Cycle, and Shelf Management Teams.

  • Understand and align on Vendor/ Item level benefit and role in merchandising/commercial strategy.

Project Management: Sponsor and/or directly manage large scale channel managment projects and act as the lead to faciliate and implement change

  • Lead and/or sponsor large scale channel management projects, cross-functional initiatives with implications/interdepencies to channel, and business efforts benefiting from channel-related subject matter expertise

  • Act as the lead to facilitate and implement the change.

  • Monitor and conduct follow up meetings to measure results.

  • Work with all levels and areas of the business.

  • Provide updates and ensure connectivty to leadership within other functions of Supply Chain and within the Brands as needed

New Business Flowpath Governance: Increase cost savings to company in a sustainable manner

  • Generate cost savings and optimal supply chain efficiency by ensuring most optimal flowpath on new business.

Context:

  • Organizational context: This is a specialized role that leads and oversees the Channel Management function within Procurement Services that discovers/seeks out cost avoidance opportunties and improved net landed cost for all divisions and merchandising teams. Acts as leadership liasion and SME within cross-functional govenance bodies and strategic projects that have a channel management component for all ADUSA departments and divisions.

  • Framework & guidelines: This individual leads and manages vendor & item level flowpath with our vendors and category partners. They provide the due diligence and analysis required to drive down costs for our divisions, stores and customers.

  • Financial dimension: This role provides P&L analysis and business case development for new supply chain models, sourcing constraints, and continuous moves that drive costs down, and creates improved net landed supply chain costs for the divisions and merhants P&L.

  • Degree of latitude: This position has a degree of latitude to influence executive-level strategies, seek out new product flowpath, align stakeholders, and create business cases that support the ADUSA/division goals to improve costs, and service/freshness.

  • Interactions and relationships: This role interacts with VP+ level Supply Chain, Brand, Category, and Finance leadership as well as vendors and functional teams. Creates and presents business cases, and achieves consensus among the group for optimal vendor flowpath, cost controls or inventory and vendor minimum gaurdrails for sourcing.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience (5-7+ years in Supply Chain or related field)
