SUMMARY
The Director, FP&A provides excellent business leadership to the entire organization by providing support and advice to the executive leadership, department heads, and all other employees. The goal of this position is to work with employees of all levels to achieve a growing market leadership position through achieving revenue, expense, and profit budgets. The Director, FP&A oversees the process of the development of these three budget areas as well as forecasting these elements throughout the year.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Assist in the development of the annual business plan.
  • Capital budget preparation as done via our company procedures.
  • Cost control: Use tools to help identify and achieve improvement in all areas. Work with department managers to solve cost issues. Monitor expenses on an ongoing basis to make spend/don’t spend decisions sometimes on a day-to-day basis with the goal being the achievement of the monthly revenue and profit goals.
  • Emphasis placed on both short- and long-term capital needs via evaluation, planning, and other analysis such as ROI.
  • General ledger maintenance.
  • Implementation of ongoing changes.
  • Internal control and safeguard assets.
  • Internal controls and audit expectations and avoiding defalcation.
  • Mine historical data to assist with spotting and interpreting opportunities.
  • Oversee and have primary accountability for accuracy of fixed asset ledgers.
  • Oversight and review of monthly processing and period close to ensure accuracy of results.
  • Prepare and monitor budget and budget variances. This includes developing an annual budget package that includes explanations, charts, graphs, and all other tools necessary to explain the budget and plan to others. Emphasis is placed on anticipating questions and providing answers to them in the business planning meetings.
  • Provide financial modeling and analysis for various ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Support the monthly accounting close process with detailed monthly financial analyses.
  • Work closely with Sr. Director, FP&A on daily operations and major business transactions.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or a closely-related area.
  • At least eight (8) years of professional work experience in a strategy and/or financial analysis role.
  • Technical background, skills, education, work experience, and training to oversee and maintain the full accounting cycle.
  • Accurate and attentive to details.
  • Trustworthy in maintaining confidences, particularly with personnel and financial matters.
  • Disciplined approach to time management and accomplishing tasks – must be extremely reliable in achieving commitments.
