What You Will Achieve
As the External Supply (ES) Portfolio Lead, you will establish and implement strategies to ensure timely and efficient processes for securing reliable contract manufacturing for New Products, On-Market commercial products and support business process for identifying sourcing options in Localization projects. You will interface with the existing Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) matrixed organization to support sourcing activities and enable on-boarding successes. Engagement with ES operations leads and enabling functions is required to ensure successful technical transfer and product launch from the Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). This role will require a dynamic and agile oversight model to support acceleration programs as well as ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance and mitigate commercial supply risk.

How Will You Achieve It
The ES Portfolio Lead will establish and implement governance and strategies to enable reliable and timely selection of CMO for New Products, new sourcing for on-market products and ensure aligned business process and stakeholder endorsement for sourcing events in support of Localization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with ES New Product Development (NPD) to link sourcing assessments with enterprise risk management tools and identified preferred CMOs by technology platforms
  • Drive Continuous Improvement, innovate to reduce end to end sourcing lead time
  • Partner with Pharmaceutical Sciences (PharmSci) External Supply to align preferred CMO partners across technical platforms
  • Lead sourcing facilitation for new and on market sourcing projects – ECR, SCR, NPSR, BPLT endorsement
  • Collaborate with ES NDP to facilitate performance assessment for in network CMOs using tools developed for ES global CMO assessment
  • Represent ES on PGS NDP lead Make vs Buy across key technology platforms
  • Develop next phase sourcing database to continue to streamline and create visibility to sourcing projects
  • Develop and enhance modules for tracking ES network portfolio including growth, exit, complexity reduction
  • Drive enhanced visibility to CMO capabilities in coordination with Procurement and Operations through outreach and data upload to Triever
Qualifications
Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals and external vendor/CMO management.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and execute within a matrix organization
Nice-to-Have
  • Master’s or PhD degree preferred
  • Experience in large molecule technology, complex sterile injectables and combination products is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems which requires the use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to lead and participate in teams at all levels of management
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including leadership, integrity, team orientation, flexibility, and creativity
  • Experience in projects that require collaborative approaches; strong analytical skills; ability to understand business issues and processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements
Travel Requirements
  • Potential for up to 10% travel
