Job Description

Summary/objective

Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 122 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best non-alcoholic beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The Corporate Director of Media and Marketing will be responsible for managing the strategy and buying for Rock Advertising, representing several iconic brands locally. They will lead our external agency partners in developing strategies rooted in consumer insight and understanding of needs, wants and media behaviors. Additionally, this role will work across the organization to inspire, influence and bolster brands and customer relationships. This role will be tasked with delivering plans that bring consumer insights, marketing, and partnerships together in meaningful ways to create unique applications and expressions of brand through media. Essential functions

· Support business objectives with media and marketing strategies.

· Lead planning, buying, trafficking, and maintaining of buys for brands for both digital and linear media on behalf of Rock Advertising while driving media value with improving ROI.

· Ensure complementary execution of national and regional media.

· Develop and localize allied brand plans to drive profitable growth, considering local brand positioning and insights.

· Ensure optimal implementation and amplification of the brand programs with customers in close collaboration with commercialization and the sales team.

· Leverage marquee partnerships and programming to impact brand market share, while optimizing effectiveness.

· Educate sales leaders and customers on media landscape insights and trends- marketplace opportunities – and guide how media can support greater marketing effectiveness.

· Oversee advertising spend and ensure programs deliver key metrics and are on budget.

· Build and manage relationships with key agency partners that will be responsible for creative development and execution.

· Participate in the annual brand planning process (AOP); responsible for identifying strategic insights through consumer media behavior, trends, past learnings, and category/purchase behavior.

· Ensure compliance with all regulatory and audience composition requirements.

· Act as a brand ambassador and guardian of the brands, ensuring ideas and activations are aligned with brand guidelines and that the brands are represented accurately in all materials.

· Well versed in traditional, digital, social, and programmatic media.

· Successful prior experience working with network of teams to translate marketing objectives into functional consumer channel strategies and tactics.

· Proven ability to execute media and strategic partnerships that drive sales volume and brand perception shifts.

· Solid quantitative skills to perform post-program analysis.

· Commitment to results; ability to incorporate new learning into existing plans and act decisively.

· Experience managing large budgets and campaigns across multiple advertising channels.

· Proven experience leading and collaborating within teams, customer, and agency partners (agencies, production houses, media companies, influencers).

· Strategic mind with an ability to lead communications strategy, think broadly, refine questions, and influence multiple decision makers.

· Must have strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

· Must have knowledge of and ability to apply basic marketing concepts (e.g., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT Analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives and strategies, consumer segmentation) used in the development of marketing plans.

· Making customers and their needs the primary focus of the business; developing, evaluating, and selecting consumer-based actions that maximize long-term profitability and volume.

· Must be able to work with a geographically spread, culturally diverse team, stakeholders, and partners.


Other Duties and Responsibilities

· Must exhibit a high level of ethical and moral conduct while at work or in attendance of any off-site function during work hours or after work hours while representing the Buffalo Rock Company.

· Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.

Required education and experience

· Bachelor’s degree Field of Study: Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field: Required

· Must have a t least 5 years of management experience in media, with at least 2 years in digital media: Required

· Agency experience: Preferred

· Must have advanced experience in/application of Microsoft Office 365 products required including, but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, One Drive, etc.: Required

· Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.) or WordPress: Preferred

· Driver's License with a good driving record (MVR): Required.
