Jackson Lewis is looking for a talented data engineering leader to join our Data Services team as an Director of Data Services to build an Enterprise Data Warehouse infrastructure to meet our data analytics and reporting needs. We are developing innovative new features within and alongside of frameworks and applications utilized in the comprehensive big data domain. The Director of Data Services will work with the firms Data Professionals, Engineers, Business Analysts and Business users in a multidisciplinary environment.
Essential Functions
  • Develop and Drive the firm’ Enterprise Data Strategy, inclusive of an overall Enterprise Data Architecture, Information Governance, Data Quality, Data Integration and Pipeline, and Analytics Roadmap and execution
  • Implement and continuously improve the firm’ data governance process and operations in collaboration with the firm’ Data Governance manager.
  • Directly manage a team of Data Engineers, Data Platform Developers, Business Intelligence engineers, to drive and deliver on the firm’ Enterprise Data Strategy and supporting Data platform operations.
  • Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
  • Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
  • Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS, Azure and SQL technologies
  • Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
  • Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
  • Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues

Qualifications/Skills Required
  • 7+ years in a leadership role, primarily responsive for an organizations Data Architect, platforms, and operations
  • 10+ year in a data engineering/development role, focusing on design and implementation on enterprise data platforms.
  • Ability to build and optimize data sets, 'big data' pipelines and architectures
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify opportunities for improvement and answer questions
  • Excellent analytic skills associated with working on unstructured datasets
  • Ability to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency and metadata
  • Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, Talend, Matillion
  • Expertise in data warehouse concepts, practices and procedures
  • Experience with cloud platforms, Azure preferred
  • Expertise in SQL and relational databases, especially MPP databases like Snowflake, Redshift Synapse…
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Python
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time.

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree or higher in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related field

For Westchester County, the expected salary range for this position is between $175,000.000 and $235,000.00. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
