Direct Support Professional

Full-Time (40-Hours)

40-hour: Saturday-Wednesday 11 pm-7 am

New Bedford, MA

Catholic Social Services Shelter Programs are DHCD-funded individual emergency overnight shelter programs for men and women facing a housing crisis. The main focus of the shelter program is to help individuals achieve successful placement into stable housing. Additionally, Catholic Social Services connects individuals to resources that are available within their respective communities to sustain long-term stable housing.

The Direct Support Professional will oversee the total operations of a work shift within the shelter environment and are responsible for ensuring the functions of the program are met while providing services that are safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered.

Qualifications include:

• Knowledge and understanding of the complex issues affecting homeless individuals
• Reliable, dependable, and punctual
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good observation, awareness, documentation, and computer skills
• Bi-lingual helpful
