Job Summary

The Child Development Center is a non-profit who partners with families to help them support their children with developmental delays and disabilities where they live, play, and grow. We work in our families’ homes and communities across western Montana. The Center is headquartered in Missoula, MT, with an additional office in Kalispell.

The Child Development Center is looking for passionate, dedicated, and team oriented employees to provide one-on-one teaching and support to children with developmental disabilities. A part-time opportunity is currently available in the Kalispell & surrounding areas.

Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP), who will be working with older children (10 and upward) to help them reach their full potential in gaining independence and skills related to every-day activities as they move into adulthood. DSPs develop a close relationship with their clients and directly implement programming to help clients reach their goals. Often DSPs work with their clients in the clients’ homes or in the community to help transfer skills into the right settings. In addition, DSPs give input and collaborate with team members on developing individual programming. DSPs are also responsible to record and maintain notes from sessions.

Child Development Center will provide training and ensure that DSPs are comfortable working one-on-one with their clients. This job is great for anyone going to school and looking for a part-time opportunity to build their resume and are interested in psychology and social work/services.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic requirements include:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possession of MT valid driver’s license and insured transportation
  • Must pass state mandated background checks
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications include:

  • At least one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred, but not required. TRAINING IS AVAILABLE.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
