Scholastic Book Fairs are wondrous in-person events that empower kids to discover books for themselves. Taking place in schools and rooted in Scholastic’s greater mission to use the power of books for the betterment of all kids, Fairs bring entire communities together. We bring “the best school day of the year” to kids in 110,000 unique in-school pop-ups that irresistibly defy expectations of how one must act in a library. (Running and screaming are welcome responses.)

Under the direction of the Digital Art Director and in collaboration with cross functional partners, the Digital Designer will be responsible for bringing the Scholastic Book Fairs brand to life through the design of marketing emails, landing page designs, website assets, and general digital design elements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help support creative solutions in the digital design space in order to support company initiatives and goals.
- Partner with internal teams and creatives to deliver projects across digital media.
- Build branded email design templates, including regular, seasonal, promotional, and automated emails.
- Create and edit photo files for digital design projects.
- Design email layouts that lead to higher levels of engagement and increased click-through rates, as well as sales growth where possible.
- Design landing pages.
- Collaborate with copywriters and email managers on overall email strategy
- Attention to detail on all assets created
- Maintain organization of creative files
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to manage and create files for digital execution.
- Understanding of digital standards and fundamentals.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and design skills
- Build and QA email designs in Adobe Experience Manager (will train)
- Ability to work independently
- Flexible, professional, positive attitude with a detail oriented approach
- Ability to work as an effective member of a small team
- Ability to collaborate with other teams
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Knowledge of HTML not required, but a plus!
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4 + years experience in a creative design role
- Minimum of 2 years of experience designing emails/digital specific content.
