JOB TITLE: DIETARY AIDE (7AM-2:30PM & 2PM-8:30PM)

General Description:

Performs a variety of tasks in the dishwashing unit and in the Food Service Unit. Performs food preparation tasks as assigned by the cook and assists in tray service, portioning, and assembling cold foods as assigned. Assists in delivering trays to the dining room and collects soiled trays and returns them to the dishwashing area.

Qualifications:

-Must have ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

-Must be able to relate positively and favorable to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates.

-Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.

-Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required.

-Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Job Duties:

• Assists in preparing and portioning foods.
• Assists in serving.
• Delivers trays to the dining room.
• Keeps beverage area in the dining room supplied and clean.
• Removes soiled dishes from the dining room and cleans dining room tables.
• Uses sanitary methods for washing dishes, handling equipment and food.
• Clean the floor, equipment, and utensils as so forth assigned.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Sanitary and safe handling of food and equipment.
Follows directions and serves food specified.
Adheres to mealtime schedules, meeting deadlines, and serving food at proper temperatures.

Working Conditions:

-Well-lighted, well ventilated kitchen.

-Exposed to heat and cold temperatures in storage areas.

-Subject to burns, cuts, and falls.

-Stands and walks during work day.

-Stoops or reaches for, and lifts kitchen equipment.

-Must have Food Handler’s Permit.

Other Duties:

Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devises: Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with residents and personnel, and to remain calm under stress; ability to understand and follow training and in-service education. Other duties as assigned.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
