Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting DevOps/Operations Manager to join our CorpTech group.
Position Summary:
DevOps/Operations Manager is responsible for operations of Corporate Technology department and manages DevOps/Operations team that functions as liaison between development teams and other global operations, production support or technical groups.

Team functions as a shared service for the whole department and is responsible for all operational aspects starting from incident and problem management, through availability management, capacity and performance management, continuity management, monitoring, event management, infrastructure, and platform management, up to change control.

Team is also responsible for maintenance and development of ODI solutions for Corporate Technology department.
Responsibilities include:
  • Understand Corporate Technology architecture and infrastructure to be able to run department operations, measure and report initiatives progress and ensure environments stability and services availability
  • Team leading responsibilities including coordination of team members responsibilities, knowledge management, team building, process improvement, career development and performance assessment
  • Maintenance of the Infrastructure Inventory for the department – build out, monitoring, upgrades and optimization of the infrastructure and coordination of End Of Life (EOL) program to upgrade/replace technologies before their End Of Service (EOS)
  • Manage applications capacity, availability, performance, and configuration – facilitate continuous monitoring of core system functions and proactively maintain service levels
  • Coordination of cyber security program for the department to ensure scans are made and vulnerabilities addressed
  • Drive continuous delivery and automation – design, develop and configure deployment tools; develop scripts and automation tools to optimize existing processes, build, integrate, and deploy software to various platforms
  • Coordination of Change Oversight preps (to discuss change scope, related risks and SDLC alignment), production deployments and wellness checks for all Corporate Technology teams
  • BCP events coordination for Corporate Technology department
  • Coordinate incident and problem management - facilitate communication between all production support levels and technical teams (development, database and other systems specialists);
  • Lead infrastructure related incident and problem management – analyze issues to determine their root cause and impact and work with technical teams to provide solutions and workarounds/tactical solutions to restore service
  • Coordinate maintenance of CorpTech’s ODI solutions and manage development and priorities as per the requirements coming from CorpTech groups
  • Lead continual improvement activities to simplify and standardize CorpTech operations
Candidate Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership, team management and organizational skills
  • Fluent English and good communication skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work/teams toward task completion
  • ITIL certificate and/or relevant experience in working with ITIL practices and advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Proven technical knowledge (programming skills, experience with scripting (e.g. Python), CI/CD, knowledge of SQL, database design, infrastructure, familiarity with mainframe, UNIX/LINUX environment, cloud solutions, etc.)
  • Working knowledge/experience of version control systems (i.e. SVN, Git)
  • Expert analytical skills and 4-5 years of proven experience in DevOps, systems analysis, problem management or application support
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $190,000, which is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role.
