Job Description


The Opportunity

The Development Manager is a key member of the Development Team and ensures fundraising success for the KIPP Texas Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) region. Specifically, the Development Manager works under the direction of the Director of Development to quality, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective mid-level donors. This position will manage a targeted donor portfolio, create engaging donor communications, develop presentations, assist with donor engagement experiences, maintain meticulous records in the donor database (RENXT), and provide administrative support for regional and statewide fundraising initiatives. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond proactively to fundraising priorities.

The right individual must be mission-aligned, collaborative, hardworking, and results-oriented. This role requires a highly organized teammate with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 75-100 mid-low range donors with the capacity to give up to $10,000 while strategizing to create and execute appropriate next steps for current, lapsed, and prospective donors.
  • Conduct prospect research and coordinate logistics for outreach including invitations to regional donor tours, visits, and meetings
  • Manage all aspects of regional giving days, end of year giving drive, and other online fundraising campaigns
  • Oversee the creation, design, and distribution of engaging and informative regional donor newsletter and other mass communications
  • Maintain constituent records in donor database and upload necessary documentation while tracking moves management for DFW donors and ensuring opportunities are accurately reflected in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Coordinate with the database team to pull mailing and email lists for donor communications, such as newsletters and appeals, and ensure all changes are updated in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Work with the database team to send out donor acknowledgement letters while supporting with database requests as needed.
  • Promote the cultivation and stewardship of regional projects/events such as speaker series, Career Days, etc. that are created by the Strategic Partnerships team and assist with day-of execution while assisting Development Events team with day of execution on local and statewide events.
  • Update local external materials such as slide decks, one pagers, and acknowledgement letters for donors while completing fundraising and donor reports as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the regional Director of Development, as per the needs of the region.

Qualifications


Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel) and Google Suites
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is necessary
  • Strong follow up and follow through skills necessary
  • Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines
  • Knowledge of North Texas area grant opportunities and foundations preferred

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR
  • Minimum 2 years of development experience required and 1 year of stakeholder management preferred

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising databases is preferred
