This position reports to the Head Women’s Softball Coach.

Responsibilities
This position provides support to the Women’s Softball coaching staff. The position will have extensive involvement with coaches on a daily basis, both collectively and individually. The primary responsibilities will be to provide analysis and data to the Head Coach and assistant coaches about opponents, team evaluations, and recruits.

This position will collect and analyze extensive practice, game and opponent video. Using independent judgment, identify, determine and break down specific practice and game content. Create a detailed description for style of play. Analyze and define coaching strategies implemented. Assist in assessing athletic performance and improvement. Provide feedback and guidance regarding athletic progress. Assist coaching staff in maintaining an athlete management system to track progress and development of each student-athlete in the program as a softball player, a student, and a high performing member of the community. Collect and track strength numbers, game statistics and metrics throughout the season and over the course of each student athlete’s career at the University of Washington. This position will be responsible to convey the analysis and results to the specific coaching staff on a daily basis and will need to have high level expertise with softball specific terminology and strategies.

Provide support with editing and cutting film, data collection and entry, scouting reports and opponent breakdowns, and maintaining various concept boards. Prepare and breakdown all opponents’ games, University of Washington games, and practice film for use by the head coach and assistant coaches. Manage all video-related activities including the coordination, management, and video analysis of practice, opponents, and game film for study, development, individual instruction, and scouting purposes.

Assist the head coach with day to day management of on and off campus recruiting activities. Assist in managing the recruiting calendar, recruiting databases and on campus recruiting events. Evaluate and analyze film of recruits and manage recruiting database for coaching staff. Assist the coaching staff in managing recruiting paperwork and other day to day operations and program events.

Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pac-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in analytics, electronics, sport administration, or collegiate softball; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Three to five years of collegiate softball experience preferred. Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Strong initiative to solve problems. Ability to work with a diverse group of coaches, administration and student-athletes. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of NCAA/Pac-12 rules. Understanding of technologies such as Synergy/Dartfish Video sharing system, Yakkertek, and Trackman Radar/Flightscope.
