Overview:
The Tufts University Advancement Division is dedicated to supporting the mission of Tufts by strengthening relationships that inspire loyalty and support for Tufts. Advancement is fully in service to the academic agenda of the university and works in close collaboration with the President, Provost, and Deans and academic leadership to ensure that the university’s teaching and research missions receive the support of alumni, parents, friends, and organizations.
What You'll Do:
In partnership with executive director of university advancement, develops goals and strategies for fundraising plans in a school. Directs prospect qualification, cultivation and solicitation plans typically through professional fundraising staff and for self. Manages fundraising activities and programs in the areas of major gifts, annual giving, stewardship, gift planning, alumni relations and special events. Accountable for meeting fundraising goals and managing a portfolio of approximately 60 - 100 prospects.

    In partnership with executive director of university advancement, dean, and senior leadership, develops goals and manages strategies for fundraising activities.
  • Plans and implements short and long-range fundraising programs for annual giving, stewardship, gift planning and alumni relations. Working with corporate and foundation relations and special events staff as necessary.
  • In collaboration with leadership, manages projects, special initiatives and campaign plans for school.
  • Prepares and presents reports to leadership on fundraising metrics and goals. Oversees documentation and reporting for fundraising activities.
  • Develops and implements marketing and communications plans in collaboration with school leadership and university relations. Prepares reports and monitors effectiveness of programs.
  • Tracks fundraising progress and monitors metrics.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Requirements:

Bachelors Degree and 7-10 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in philanthropy.
  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of structuring proposals and securing major/leadership gifts
  • Experience managing or mentoring fundraising staff
