Position Summary

McHenry County College (MCC) seeks an Executive Director of Workforce Development. This critical and dynamic college position serves as an advocate for workforce, noncredit, and community programs and activities. We’re looking for an engaging leader and partner who has enthusiasm for managing and working collaboratively with all areas of the College, as well as with industry leaders to create and offer innovative programming that will grow revenue and make McHenry County stronger.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic planning for the development, revenue generation, and on-going operation of all Community Education programs including Court Programs (Focus on the Kids and Traffic Safety School), Personal Development, and Kids and College.
  • Implement a coordinated marketing plan for all program areas within the Workforce Development division, in partnership with the Office of Marketing and Public Relations (OMPR)
  • Provide administrative oversight for 3rd-party registration system and Colleague integration. Oversee all technology interfaces for the Workforce Development division including quarterly systems testing, representation on ERP Core Team, and campus-wide technology related committees.
  • Serve as division lead for the development of grant proposals, implementation of awarded grants, and coordination of periodic and close-out reporting
  • Supervise Community Education Coordinators and Workforce Development division non-exempt employees
  • Represent Community Education in appropriate community organizations to develop and foster community relationships.
  • Maintain CEU authorizations as applicable for all Workforce Development programs. Monitor procedures to remain in compliance with regulations
  • Serve as division lead to implement continuous process improvement principles across all Workforce Development programs and services
  • Oversee program review across all Workforce Development program areas
  • Monitor progress of all programs, including enrollment, revenue generation, budget performance, cancellation rates, and evaluation data.
  • Maintain activity in the Regional Consultative Council and ICCET
  • Work collaboratively with others (e.g. colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
  • Support and participate in the College’s commitment to continuous improvement
  • Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience in program development and implementation
  • Experience in budgeting and expense projection
  • Experience in program evaluation
  • Two years of leadership experience either in directly managing employees or in a project management role
