ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Design Review Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day design review process for both Summerlin West and Summerlin South master associations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in performance of non-routine and non-repetitive design review duties for the Summerlin Community Management Department.

  • Produce and maintain effective records of all residential design review activities and decisions related to a high volume of individual owner property improvements.

  • Assist with evaluation and implementation of design review policies and procedures for the department.

  • Acquire and maintain a practical understanding of all Summerlin Standards and individual design criteria of each respective master association.

  • Coordinate the improvement submittal, review and response process for Summerlin West and South Design Review Committees to include:

    • Processes, reviews and responses for all master association submittals received.

    • Scheduling routine Design Review Committee meetings.

    • Overseeing all Design Review Committee meetings and preparation of minutes.

    • Preparation of correspondence from Design Review Committee and serve as liaison with homeowners, contractors and sub-associations.

  • Research and respond to inquiries from owners regarding the design review process, relevant Summerlin Standards and West and South design criteria.

  • Assemble and dispense information requested by homeowners, contractors, sub-associations and other agencies.

  • Assist in creating and updating design criteria on a semi-regular basis.

  • Prepare and assist with distribution of any amendments to master association design criteria to all homeowners, sub-associations and Declarant.

  • Work with Community Management team to help monitor compliance with approved plans and when appropriate assist Community Management in enforcement of design review policies with property inspections and communication of issues/violations to members.

  • Provide status reports of improvement requests submitted to Summerlin West and Summerlin South Design Review Committees.

  • Enhance customer-oriented review and approval process to affect timely handling and positive results for membership.

  • Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post High School, Architectural studies and Community Association Industry continuing education and training classes preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in community residential/commercial design review.

  • Strong knowledge of architectural drawings and community association operations preferred.

  • Must enjoy a high level of public interaction.

  • Able to work in a pleasant, efficient and effective manner with people.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Work with little supervision.

  • Interact effectively as part of a team.

  • Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities and timely response.

  • A team player who can multi-task and is self-directed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.

  • Exercise sound judgment when making decisions.

  • Good problem solver/creative thinker.

  • “Can-do” attitude, pro-active and resourceful.

  • Experience using Windows operating system, Microsoft Office software suite and Jenark preferred; ideally a quick learner regarding any/all department technology applications.
