We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer (ideally from the industry) to join our innovative, fast-growing company. You’ll be a member of our brilliant research and development team, contributing to the design of new cutting-edge window and door products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using CAD software, with strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills and a creative flair. It is also important that you have sound project management skills to meet the daily demands of the role.

Principle Responsibilities

• Design new components and systems from initial concepts through to implementation into the business.
• Draft 2D cross sections of designs using CAD and 3D models using Solidworks.
• Assist with prototype builds and analyse prototype efficacy with follow up actions.
• Improve existing components and profiles.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
• Ensure design specs are fit for purpose and ISO 9001 compliant.
• Ensure products are user centric, practical to make and install, and eco-conscious.
• Proactively implement innovative designs and tech when appropriate.
• Present prototypes and designs to customers and departmental managers
• A strong industry and product knowledge will be essential.
• Effective communication skills
• Proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a keen sense for implementing the top priorities.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent relevant subject

• Understanding the need for confidentiality when dealing with both internal and external information.
• Flexibility to work outside or in excess of standard hours when necessary to achieve objectives required.
• Sound knowledge of the company’s service offering specific to role.
