The Delivery Clerk ensures the proper and timely distribution of all incoming and interdepartmental mail between Oakland and the North Shore Museums.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Prefer a high school graduate with work experience associated with the receipt, sorting and delivery of mail or previous United States Postal Service distribution or window clerk experience.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • This position requires working various schedules and times including daylight, evenings, nights and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Position requires the ability to lift and/or move mail bags and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Weigh, separate, bundle and meter all outgoing mail from the daily collections.
  • Answers telephone and provides caller with postal information.
  • On a daily basis, deliver US mail and interdepartmental mail to designated drop off points at the North Shore museums.
  • Sort mail between museums and ensure delivery of mail on a daily basis.
  • Deliver packages to departments in the Oakland facility.
  • Receive incoming and interdepartmental mail for distribution at the Oakland complex.
  • Sort and deliver mail at the Oakland complex.
  • Collect interoffice mail and all outgoing US mail from offices and departments at the Oakland complex.
  • Maintain neat, accurate, and up to date files.
  • General duties and responsibilities.
  • Observe safety and security procedures o Exhibit courtesy and sensitivity in interactions with the various internal and external customers.
  • Project the image and attitude of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh.
The following PA Act 153 clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required beginning employment and as a condition of continued employment: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check Obtaining the required clearances is completed as part of the new hire process.
