    The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check. A $50.20 fingerprinting fee will be charged once hired.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
    To provide support to the Principal in the areas of curriculum and instruction advanced programs, and development of the Advanced Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program toward the objective of enabling students to achieve the academic and philosophical goals of the school system.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
    • Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
    • Assist in implementation of professional development programs.
    • Coordinate and lead campus instructional initiatives.
    • Guide implementation of LISD Learning Model.
    • Develop and coordinate AVID staff development for administrators, teachers, counselors, tutors and parents.
    • Manage AVID program including tracking students, collection and submission of required data required by the state and AVID Centers.
    • Coordinate and promote campus advanced programs including PSAT testing, A.P. potential data analysis and dissemination, A.P. Testing.
    • Coordinate extensive on-site and middle school feeder support of AVID program including student recruitment, program implementation, field-based experiences, monitoring students, data analysis, tutor recruitment and program evaluation.
    • Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, promotional literature, newsletter updates, and other informative material for distribution to school district staff as appropriate.
    • Maintain relationship with parents and community.
    • Coordinate teacher observations.
    • Co-coordinate master schedule.
    • Evaluate teachers through LEADS.
    • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance to ensure a consistent focus on student learning.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • None

    GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
    Education/Certification/Experience:
    • Master’s Degree in education from an accredited university.
    • Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred.
    • Progressively responsible teaching experience, high school level preferred. Experience as campus administrator preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Knowledge of school administrative operations
    • Skill in organization and communication experience preferred.
