JOB TITLE: Day Program Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Overall supervision and guidance to Community Access Mentors (CAMs) in the day supports program. Ensure appropriate level of supports to individuals participating in program. Will oversee programs in Savannah and Glenville areas.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree or five years of experience working adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, or in another related Human Services field. Bachelor’s degree in human services field strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Minimum of two years of experience in day programs with IDD population, including a minimum of 2–3-years of supervisory experience.
SPECIAL LICENSES, REGISTRATION OR CERTIFICATION: CPR, CPI, First Aid, Driver's License
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Community Access Mentors (Direct Support Professionals)
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement opportunities for community connections and participation.
- Plan and implement activities, curricula, and calendars.
- Develop and maintain group schedules.
- Ensure implementation of all documentation, such as data collection, forms, and progress notes.
- Oversee program area and ensure all safety guidelines and requirements are met. Ensure day program is safe (chemicals locked, exits cleared, etc.)
- Weekly audit of individual records to include both electronic and paper documentation (including but not limited to daily notes, goal tracking, health related documentation, etc.)
- Daily audit of timekeeping and AOD requests.
- Communicate with residential provider and/or family.
- Monitor maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor day program for appropriate activities and levels of interactions.
- Provide guidance to CAMs during activities.
- Monitor/maintain necessary paperwork related to payroll for individuals as appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings as directed by supervisor.
- Implement and assist in the development of Individual Service Plans (ISP).
- Provide leadership to all day program employees.
- Provide support in the program area when necessary and full coverage in the case of staff absences.
- Provide support with personal care, such as toileting and feeding as necessary.
- Oversee ordering of supplies and materials.
- Attend joint meetings with other departments, such as Community Living, Nursing, Behavior, and QI.
- Ensure CPI standards are in use at day services.
- Arrange and facilitate monthly department meetings and distribute minutes within a week of meeting.
- Ensure that staff receive training as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive relationship with individuals, families, co-workers, and community members.
- Maintain objectivity in position to set appropriate limits while working with individuals.
- Support individuals in their personal growth and development, respecting cultural, ethnic, spiritual, and individual differences.
- Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
