At Inspire, data and analytics is at the forefront of supporting our brands (Arby’s, Baskin, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin’, Jimmy Johns, Rusty Taco, and Sonic) and our team members. We believe that great insights and understanding of business can be unlocked through comprehensive data and data visualizations. This role provides the foundational support of this initiative by developing the underlying data views that support enterprise BI tool dashboards and Ad Hoc analytics. The ideal candidate will work closely with the BI Team to provide the data necessary to deliver the business’ reporting needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maximizes the capabilities of enterprise reporting tools by developing efficient and comprehensive data sources

• Develop, maintain, support, and enhance the business intelligence data views in Brand and Inspire data warehouses

• Coordinate with data warehouse architects, data scientists, and data collection application engineers to establish required data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and enhancement as needed

• Develop an understanding of how the data and reporting tools are currently being used within the organization to facilitate best practices for analytics

• Establish working knowledge of BI tools front end design and capabilities to ensure maximum synergy between data sources and reporting needs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field required

• 5+ years relevant experience in database view development including support of BI tools

• 2+ years working in restaurant industry environment

• 2 - 5 years’ experience technical support of reporting environments

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

• Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.)

• Expertise in data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques

• Expertise in database operations and optimization for Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, OracleDB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, flat-file storage, etc.

• Strong critical thinking & problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with other information technology professionals within the organization to coordinate data storage and retrieval

• Previous industry experience within the restaurant industry in a franchise model is strongly desired

• Experience working within an AGILE project management methodology is strongly desired

• Creating and maintaining business requirements and other technical documentation
