Data Processing Operations Supervisor - Patient Accounts

Location: East Setauket, NY

Schedule: Full-time

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:00pm

SUMMARY: The Data Processing Operations Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the data processing division to ensure the timely and accurate processing of data. This position will have considerable knowledge and experience in the coordination, organization and processing of batch production jobs.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Supervises the daily activities of data entry staff who input records, lists and other data points into an electronic format.
  • Provides Practice Management application support to include charge interface modifications, addressing charge file and interface utilities issues.
  • Maintain PM system dictionaries/files.
  • Provides support to the Revenue Cycle department and the Practices.
  • Schedules and monitors the activities of the data processing division.
  • Ensures integrity of data being processed is maintained.
  • Identifies and resolves problems, preferably before the data processing schedule is affected.
  • Collaborates with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Modifies patient billing statement file and addresses transfer issues.
  • Assists with system upgrades and charge interface testing.
  • Ensures compliance with company guidelines and requirements by enforcing policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Trains, hires, and schedules data processing staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • In lieu of degree will consider an additional 3 years of experience working in a medical billing practice management system preferably Athena/IDX
  • 3 years of experience working in a medical billing practice management system preferably Athena/IDX
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management. The responsibilities and tasks outlined in this job description are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of CPMP.
