The Department of General Services makes Tennessee State Government work! Literally.

State troopers, and social workers, are a few State employees who couldn't do their jobs without the vehicles we purchase and maintain. The Department of Transportation relies on us to purchase salt to treat icy roads. When you visit the State Capitol or other State buildings across Tennessee, our Department has had a hand in it. We are responsible for operating, managing, and maintaining real estate assets owned by the State. Even the governor relies on our team to document his appearances and various State events through photography.

Job Overview:

The Data Coordinator is a valued member of the STREAM (State of Tennessee Real Estate & Asset Management) division. In this role, you will be responsible for entering and maintaining real estate-related data from various source documents into STREAMs computer systems for storage and data management purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry.
  • Review source documents for accuracy and verify and correct, when necessary, the collected data and obtain further information for incomplete documents and data.
  • Continuously update and enter data from source documents into the prescribed computer databases and forms.
  • Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required.
  • Respond to internal requests for information and access to relevant files.
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies.
  • Perform basic research and create reports on collected data to ensure data is in the proper format.

Required Experience:

Completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detailed oriented.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail.
  • Efficient and organized work style and an ability to work quickly and confidently.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a concise way.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office Products specifically SharePoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Previous experience creating reports in Microsoft Access and basic charts in Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of business intelligence tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Commitment to excellence in public service.
