JOB SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Specialist main responsibility is to answer incoming calls during assigned shift assisting customers and resolving issues on each call. The Customer Service Specialist is also responsible for providing quality customer support in assisting customers by promptly receiving, recording, and filling orders for paint sundries and assisting with product questions and resolving order related issues. All interactions are expected to be handled in a courteous consistent and professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

- Answer calls promptly and efficiently ensuring that customers are satisfied on the first call.
- Resolve and provide solutions to any issues that arise on the phone.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
- Input and process orders in a timely manner.
- Edit orders for price and product changes and log all call notes.
- Inform customers of unit price, shipping date, anticipated delays and any additional information required by the customer.
- Verify shipping order accuracy regarding quantity shipped and cross-reference shipping documents.
- Negotiate pricing on merchandise shipped in error to avoid company pick up.
- Arrange merchandise pickups for customers with the warehouse.
- Research and respond to questions concerning shipments and backorders in a timely manner.
- Navigate our internal computer system to look up customer information.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Company’s products and promotions.
- Communicate with Call Center Team Leads when significant issues arise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Customer Service, Department Manager or Team Leader.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma.
- At least 1 year of general office work experience.
- Ability to perform simple mathematic functions (calculate percentages, discounts, etc).
- Must be proficient in the use of computers, copiers, fax machines, software, and other office equipment.
- Must have excellent telephone technique, including ability to communicate with confidence with a clear, professional speaking voice.
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Must be detailed oriented, well organized and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a high-volume environment.
- Must be able to work independently or in a team environment.

- Office equipment (computer, calculator, copier, telephone, fax machine, etc.)

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment. Required to spend 80% of time on the telephone.
