Custodian

($14 - $17/hr DOE)

Candeeland Kids is a new indoor play area for kids targeted at ages 0-9. We have a large play structure, arcade, cafe, and candy store. This is a locally owned and family-run business with the goal of offering a safe, clean place for kids to play. Our team so far consists of fun, energetic people of all ages and backgrounds. We are highly supportive of our employees, encourage growth, and compensate accordingly.

Custodian Daily Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Typical weekly schedule is ~40 hours Friday to Tuesday (Wed and Thursday off), 7am - 3:30pm. Weekends are a must as these are our busiest days. Hours may be flexible upon approval.

Custodian Qualifications / Skills:

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
• Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• High school courses in shop may be preferred for jobs involving repair work

• Friega, desinfecta y suministra instalaciones de baños.

• Limpia ventanas, espejos y mamparas con jabón y otros limpiadores.
• Limpia y pule accesorios y muebles.
• Lava alfombras y tapetes con champú o vapor.
• Limpia y abrillanta muebles y enseres.
• Maneja el inventario de artículos de limpieza.
• Notifica a los gerentes sobre la necesidad de reparaciones o adiciones a los sistemas operativos del edificio.

El horario semanal típico es de ~40 horas de viernes a martes (miércoles y jueves libres), de 7:00 a. m. a 3:30 p. m. Los fines de semana son imprescindibles ya que estos son nuestros días más ocupados. El horario puede ser flexible previa aprobación.

Cualificaciones/habilidades del custodio:

• Conocimiento de los métodos y procedimientos de limpieza estándar.
• Capacidad para pararse, caminar y agacharse durante muchas horas
• Capacidad para realizar movimientos repetitivos durante largos períodos de tiempo.
• Experiencia en el uso de equipos de limpieza, incluidas aspiradoras, pulidores de pisos y soluciones de limpieza.
• Antecedentes en el manejo, mezcla y uso de productos químicos de limpieza.
• Conocimiento de las normas de seguridad en riesgos laborales.
• Habilidades de comunicación
• Habilidad para levantar objetos pesados, subir escaleras y trabajar a alturas particulares

Requisitos de educación y experiencia:

• Diploma de escuela secundaria o su equivalente
• Habilidades matemáticas básicas
• Los cursos de la escuela secundaria en el taller pueden ser preferibles para trabajos que impliquen trabajos de reparación.
