Custodian Summary

Cleans and maintains KBBH facilities, including meeting rooms, offices, lunchrooms, kitchens, carpet and flooring, furniture, walls, toilets, minor building maintenance repairs, etc., to provide a safe and healthy workplace. You may be assigned to multiple departments.

• Works as part of a team to carry out cleaning tasks to ensure standards are maintained.
• Ensures any repairs noticed during cleaning duties are reported to the Director of Administration in a timely manner.
• Ensures cleaning tasks assigned by supervisor are carried out in a timely fashion.
• Utilizes proper training and equipment to clean up potentially hazardous materials or contact the appropriate authorities to handle such incidents.
• Carries out additional or special cleaning assignments as instructed by supervisor.
• Identifies appropriate cleaning materials and products to sanitize areas, disinfect and deodorize according to KBBH standards.
• Organizes cleaning items, disinfectants and other materials kept in storage, as well as cleaning equipment.
• Maintains accurate logs and records of areas that have been cleaned and schedule of regular cleaning.
• Keep buildings secure by locking doors.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming.
• Clean Day Treatment kitchen and lunchroom floors daily by sweeping and mopping.
• Uses proper signage to indicate wet flooring or other potentially hazardous situations.
• Fulfills work order requests in case of cleaning or plumbing emergencies.
• Gather and empty trash and recycling.
• Clean and replenishes supplies in restrooms and hand washing areas (such as hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper.)
• Follows cleaning routine and schedule as set by supervisor including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window washing, mirrors, etc.

Work Environment: Most work is performed indoors but may require some outdoor work sweeping walkways, emptying outside trash receptacles, washing windows or doors, and bringing trash to the dumpsters.
