Schedule - Night Shift / Day Shift (Rotating)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise work activities of janitorial personnel in commercial and industrial establishments.
  • Leads, guides, and/or trains custodians in applicable procedures and techniques.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Must be available to work flexible shift hours including weekends.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as needed including Dust, Mops Floors, Vacuum Carpets, Cleans Restrooms and restocking paper and soap supplies, and Emptying trash receptacles and bags of trash for proper disposal when necessary.
  • May purchase janitorial supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
  • Assign duties, inspect work, investigate complaints regarding janitorial services and take corrective action.
  • Recommends personnel actions, such as hires and discharges, to ensure proper staffing.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training sessions as required.
  • Inspect potential worksites and create proposals.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma.
  • 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must be bilingual.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment. Ability to understand verbal instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to lead and train staff.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communications.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain adequate supplies for the daily needs of custodial staff.
  • Must be willing to travel out of town when necessary.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a background check.
