JOB SUMMARY:

A Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the overall curriculum program at the center; to include: curriculum development and implementation, child safety, staff orientation and program efficiency and efficacy.

DUTIES:

MANAGEMENT

a. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the regulatory standards established by the Texas Department of Protective and regulatory Services and Department of Health.
b. Participates in the hiring and maintenance of sufficient staff to provide care to the children enrolled. Communicates with the Director, providing feedback regarding staff competencies in implementation of the curriculum/program.
c. Participates in the monitoring of effective child/staff ratios facilitating the provisions of care in a safe environment, where each child benefits from the program individually and within the group to which they are assigned.
d. Facilitates staff in the provision of a safe, clean, and neat physical environment for the children, insuring that the center has an attractive, warm appearance at all times.
e. Demonstrates positive interactions with parents, and effective communication at all times.
h. Assists in monitoring the provision of adequate, safe and functional equipment supplies supporting the curriculum at all times. Immediately addresses issues regarding equipment and supplies minimizing effects on safety and curriculum.
f. Works with the Director and staff in creating and implementing all policies and procedures needed for the safe and effective operation of the center.
g. Assists teachers with classroom organization
h. Creates and disseminates the school information to teachers and parents.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

a. Support the implements of a year-round curriculum insuring that the physical, social and intellectual needs of the children are met on a daily basis. Works closely with teachers when developing and implementing program, demonstrating effective leadership and supervision at all times.
b. Establishes weekly meetings with teachers to revising or creating curriculum, problem solving issues, and/or creating policy, etc.
c. Insures that all staff understands and is competent in administering the program in their area. Provides guidance as needed.
d. Insures that all activities associated with the program are safe, and can be effectively carried out at the facility or designated place outside the center.
e. Insures that all areas in the center including classrooms, hallways and playground, resource areas, etc. are kept neat and clean, are attractive to children, and facilitate learning.

CHILD CARE SKILLS

a. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the developmental stages of growth and effectively integrate this throughout the program.
b. Demonstrate understanding of the school’s discipline policy and ensure all employees abide by this policy.
c. Demonstrates ability to relate to children and create a warm, caring accepting environment.
d. Demonstrates ability to effectively assess progress or areas of support/need and develop improvement plans either with individual children or the curriculum as a whole.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

a. Demonstrate sound judgment in the management of the curriculum at the center; effectively interacting with children, parents, staff and community.
b. Demonstrates strong problem solving skills.
c. Demonstrate a high standard of professional ethics.
d. Demonstrate a desire for professional growth, improvement of skills, etc.
e. Demonstrates willingness and ability to perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Director of the School.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
