Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analytical and quantitative skills to conduct in-depth formal and accurate financial statement and credit analysis. Must be able to navigate industry research, financial statements, S&P and Moody’s research reports, and provide an evidence-based opinion on a counterparties creditworthiness.
  • Ability to effectively and diplomatically communicate and work with others, both internally and externally. Candidate must have the ability to negotiate credit provisions with counterparties and work closely with internal marketing, contract groups and /or legal.
  • Responsible for developing excel models evaluating future financial performance, liquidity, etc. on a wide array of customers, joint venture partners, vendors, etc.
  • Prepare and submit to management formal requests for customer open lines of credit.
  • Recommend and establish credit enhancers (collateral) requirements, such as letters of credit, parental guarantees, prepayments, netting agreements, etc., as necessary.
  • Prepare and monitor both current and forecasted financial exposure reports with any exceptions reported to management, as necessary.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Assist Treasurer and management team in completion of special projects and formal presentations to internal and external parties including rating agencies, etc.
  • Team player and responsible individual who takes initiative/ownership in all areas of work.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines while working independently with limited supervision.
  • Industry knowledge – basic working knowledge of oil and gas industry.
  • Assist with other Treasury duties, as necessary.

Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree required in Finance, Accounting or other related Business Degree. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of applicable experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Formal bank/finance training and or modeling skills are a plus.
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills in Excel and Access
  • Familiarity with general terms and conditions, ISDAs, parent guaranty, and S&P/Moody’s ratings a plus.
  • No travel required.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
  • Compliance with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing.
