Ambulatory Surgical Center looking for a part time Credentialing Specialist to help organize and manage physician and allied health personnel files. This individual will be responsible for the credentialing and timely maintaining and the management of a group of roughly 75 providers according to the single cycle credentialing act in the State of Illinois. Maintain computer database of required licenses/expirable documents, certifications in a manner keeping with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements. The credentialing specialist will attend Medical Executive Committee meetings to present the credentialing files and assist in regulatory surveys.

Qualifications:

· Highly organized individual with much attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.

· Excellent computer skills with skills including credentialing applications, Microsoft Office and Database creation.

· Experience in healthcare credentialling: licensing, credentialing and provider verification with a variety of medical provider types, highly preferred.

· Education: High School Diploma

Responsibilities:

· Initiates and maintains credentialing files for all providers of the Ambulatory Surgical Center. Credentialing specialist ensures files are complete and always current, according to both State of Illinois and The Joint Commission standards.

· Develops physician credentialling: appointment and reappointment process. Ensures that files tracked, complete and fully accurate for presentation to Medical Executive Committee for their review and approval.

· Attends and presents files to the Medical Executive Committee on a quarterly basis.

· Develops and maintains complete, organized computer database with all provider credentials and all keeping expirable items accurate and current.

· Works with new providers to develop the credentialing process with them and tracks that process to assure a timely completion.

· Works with the business office, surgical scheduling and clinical nursing staff to assure that they have complete and accurate access to full credentials information for all providers.
