Full Time: a position working 35+ hours per week. $20-$25/hour or more dependent on business volume ($15/hour plus tips.)
The Creamery Lead Attendant will be responsible for supervising a dynamic guest services team and ensuring that operations at the Antler Hill Village Creamery, Smokehouse, carts and other assigned locations are exceeding guest expectations, providing memorable experiences, and delivering on Biltmore’s reputation for world class guest service. Duties will include, but are not limited to: providing support and resources for staff; acting as on-site contact for guest inquiries and events; liaising with other departments (e.g. Group Sales, etc.); and supervising a dynamic guest services team. Other duties will include providing general assistance and support for leadership, the department, and company. Charge tips available based on business volume.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Supervision and development of line staff.
2. Position will have continual on-the-floor guest and employee interaction, and ensure that subordinate remain in guest areas during peak periods.
3. Assigns work tasks and coordinates activities of Outlet personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons.
4. Work closely with Restaurant Manager and other culinarians in menu training as well as day-to-day operation issues. Will promptly inform kitchen of any food complaints or timing issues.
5. Regularly recommend revenue generating initiatives or efficiency improvement proposals.
6. Responsible for food, beer and wine controls and inventory.
7. Responsible for ordering, issuing and inventory of uniforms as well as ensuring staff is always in appropriate clean and pressed uniform.
8. Ongoing training and development of staff.
9. Ensure cleanliness of all Outlets areas. Ensure accuracy of daily paper work, and conduct regular cash drawer and safe audits.
10. Ensure repair and maintenance of areas is completed as necessary.
11. Responsible for counting down and balancing all drawers and moneys.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma (or GED). Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred. The ideal candidate would have some college.
2. Minimum two (2) years related food and beverage supervisory/management experience in a comparable full service restaurant and/or luxury hotel/resort required, preferably in an upscale setting. A combination of education and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will have dedicated fine dining experience to include in a multi-unit 4/5 star/diamond hotel or resort.
3. Demonstrated leadership skills and/or previous supervisory experience required.
4. Proven commitment to the delivery of world class guest service, internally and externally, and ability to motivate staff to do the same are essential functions of this position.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Must be able to quickly acquire knowledge of Biltmore’s history, products and services, and systems.
6. Minimum 21 years of age to bartend as needed. Familiarity with beer and wine preferred.
7. Outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
8. Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
9. Excellent planning, organizational, and project and time management skills; must be able to prioritize work under deadline with a focus on quality and details.
10. Ability to be proactive, take initiative and exercise good judgment; must possess a high level of professionalism and be comfortable addressing, anticipating, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
11. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and handle a variety of guest service situations in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards are essential functions of this position.
Physical Requirements:
1. The individual will work in a guest contact environment.
2. The individual will be required to lift 35 pounds regular and 50 pounds occasionally.
3. The individual may work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
4. Must have a full range of movement and be able to bend, kneel, reach overhead/below, stoop, and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
5. Will be working outdoors and inside with fluctuations in temperature and conditions.
6. May be exposed to dust, pollen, and other particulates, and should be able to work effectively under these conditions.
