Job Purpose:
Manages Count Team activities and staff
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
  • Maintains the efficiency of Count Team operations by scheduling and assigning duties to team members, submitting time and attendance documentation to appropriate personnel, instructing staff on correct departmental policies and procedures, maintaining a separation between gaming and non-gaming funds, adhering to minimum internal controls and established procedures, identifying out of compliance behaviors and reporting findings to the Casino Operations Controller and/or the necessary departments as required. - 35%
  • Ensures the accuracy of the currency counts by ensuring all boxes are removed and docked from the drop carts, reviewing the strapping, balancing, and ticketing count processes, reviewing and recording bill acceptor and gaming revenue totals, verifying docked slot machine canisters, recorded revenues, final chip counts, and Master Games Stiff Sheets, adhering to minimum internal controls, entering gaming data into the computer database following established procedures, ensuring that kiosk count procedures are separate from fill procedures and from gaming funds, reviewing surveillance tapes, and identifying and correcting out of compliance behaviors. - 25%
  • Maintains a comprehensive audit of gaming and non-gaming count processes by generating currency, ticket voucher and accuracy reports, compiling and reviewing daily variance and discrepancy reports and daily task forms, conducting counts of kiosk machines that provide information for each individual machine, and forwarding information to the appropriate departments following established procedures. - 20%
  • Develops Count Team Members by monitoring and evaluating team member performance, identifying training needs, conducting performance appraisals, and providing counseling, guidance and coaching on departmental policies and procedures, and taking corrective actions as needed. - 15%
  • Hires qualified candidates by communicating staffing needs and advertisement requirements to Human Resources, reviewing online applications, and interviewing and selecting best qualified applicants. - 5%
Job Specifications:
Education and Experience:
Essential:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of high volume cash handling experience
  • 5 years of supervisory experience (over 15 people)
Desirable:
  • Casino Count Room Supervisory experience
  • Bank Vault supervisory experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members
  • Ability to communicate in the English language
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Ability to count quickly and accurately
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments

  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to staff

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and push for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift carry, and push up to 40 lbs.
