The Counselor for the Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse (IOPSA) and Court ordered Services is a bilingual position; and provides counseling services and coordination of care for patients and families, utilizing individual, group, and/or family approaches as indicated by need. Provides group counseling to adolescents/adults enrolled in the Intensive Outpatient Program. Maintains and manages a caseload size of up to 40 patients receiving counseling services and up to 60 patients as Clinical Liaison. Meets minimum qualifications for a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or Behavioral Health Professional (BHP), is credentialed as a Clinical Liaison (CL), responsible for conducting assessments, facilitating, or participating in Child and Family Teams, and providing clinical oversight to teams. Negotiates individualized service plans, implements agreed-upon interventions, and monitors progress toward goal completion in accordance with the Arizona Vision and 12 Principles. This position will also provide services to Court ordered patients and conduct assessments and intakes for individuals ordered by the court for DUI Education, DUI Treatment groups, Anger Management, Parenting, or Domestic Violence groups. The COS Counselor is responsible for running DUI education and Treatment groups and provides community-based resources to assist clients and their families based on their needs. The counselor will also provide therapy as clinically appropriate. The COS counselor must be able to travel from site to site to provide intakes and/or facilitate groups, as well as travel to various community-based organizations to build a database for community services. Complete administrative tasks assigned by the program lead and Director. Th counselor will receive direct supervision from the Clinical Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in a field related to behavioral health and licensed in the state of AZ as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • Must have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and to meet the unique needs of consumer populations served by the agency, including children, and meet the requirements for a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or Professional (BHP)
  • Must be credentialed as BHT or BHP within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence
  • Must have exceptional skills in communication (written and verbal) and able to execute conflict resolution.
  • Ability to provide culturally sensitive and trauma-sensitive services
  • Experience working with families of diverse socio-economic status
  • Maintain an awareness of substance abuse symptoms, signs, and best practice treatment
  • Proficient in DSM 5 diagnosing
  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior, child development, and counseling theories
  • Knowledge of Windows environment and/or Electronic Health Records systems
  • TB test
  • Must have or able to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance
  • Must maintain current CPR/1st Aid certification
