We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician for our office located at [LOCATION]. This position is responsible for supporting pharmacological services for the dispensary by stocking, assembling and distributing medications. The days and hours can be flexible but we are looking for approximately [#] hours/week and the person must be able to work Monday-Friday and in between the hours of 8:00AM- 4:00PM.

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities:

  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
  • Answer telephones, responding to questions or requests.
  • Retrieves, pours, counts, labels and reconstitutes prescription medications
  • Price and file prescriptions that have been filled.
  • Order, label, and count stock of medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data into computer.
  • Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas, and sterilize glassware according to prescribed methods.
  • Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients as well as patient allergies.
  • Prepare and process medical insurance claim forms and records.
  • Transfer medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile, disposable syringes, using aseptic techniques.
  • Maintains logs for register, return to stock, credits, HIPAA, no safety caps waivers, vouchers/grants, inventory and special assignments.
  • Receive payments for prescriptions dispensed and log payments accurately into system.
  • Perform other office duties as assigned by manager.

Pharmacy Technician Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Pharmacy Technician licensure or registration is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable in state and federal pharmacy law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient Math skills
  • Proficient computer software and database skills
  • Strong attention to detail
