The Cost & Inventory Manager ensures that accurate inventory quantities and valuations are maintained. Establish standard costs for product profitability and inventory valuation. Plant performance analysis in the areas of inventory levels/accuracy, Bill of Materials changes, and productivity initiatives. Maintenance of the standard cost environment. Implement and enhance the accounting systems/procedures that will improve efficiencies and internal controls.

Role & Responsibility
Implement and Enhance the Accounting Systems/Procedures

  • Timely and accurate completion of all daily and monthly requirements, including month-end journal entries and reporting
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of periodic physical inventory
  • Effectively work with internal and external auditors

Analyze Plant Performance

  • Provide management with analysis on plant performance – including, but not limited to, inventory levels/accuracy, actual vs. standard costs, labor & capital productivity efforts

Participate in New Product Development Teams

  • Participate with design engineering on new product development teams

Financial Forecasts and Operating Plans

  • Develop and analyze monthly plant financial forecast, annual operating plan and 5-year strategic plan

Maintenance of the Standard Cost Environment

  • Work with appropriate business partners in developing material standards and overhead rates for standard cost system

This role is hybrid eligible. We welcome candidates that are interested in being onsite in Wahpeton or Gwinner 2-3 days per week, while working the remaining days at home or one of our other office locations. **

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a standard cost system
  • Oracle and/or SAP experience
  • MBA/CMA a plus
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Effective time management and priority focus skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency, including strong Excel skills
  • Travel Standard: 10 - 24%
