Job Description:
The Cost Analyst will support multiple manufacturing facilities with responsibilities in accounting and analysis. This position requires a collaborative, talented, and curious individual who wants to drive business results. The Cost Analyst will assist with plant/corporate costs and control including standard cost maintenance, bill of material audits, labor routing reviews and special projects as requested. This individual will work closely with the Sr Manager of Accounting Shared Services and Manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact financial results as well as educate/inform departments on cost drivers and variances. In addition, this individual will be responsible for the reporting accuracy of our manufacturing accounts as part of the month end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations, managing the Fixed Asset process and depreciation expense including the capital expenditure budget, project spending and reporting. This position can be located onsite at our global headquarters in Brillion, WI, our new manufacturing facility in Fayetteville, TN, or our distribution center in Shepherdsville, KY.

THE DAY TO DAY…
  • Responsible for inventory management, including preparation of excess and obsolete reports, reserves and disposition plans
  • Track and analyze material cost variations
  • Complete account reconciliations for month end and year end close
  • Assist in the development and standardizing of product costs / BOM’s
  • Support manufacturing operations in all aspects of business, including costing, metrics, analysis, and reporting
  • Prepare external audit materials and external financial reports
  • Support New Product Development initiatives through costing and analysis
  • Assist in acquisition activities and due diligence, specifically related to inventory and fixed assets
  • Manage the fixed asset process and reporting along with monthly depreciation expense
  • Prepare and complete month-end journal entries and financial reports associated with the manufacturing accounts
  • Manage Sales and Use Tax monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual filings
  • Complete special projects and other duties as requested by management
  • Identify inefficient procedures and suggest possible improvements to the current financial reporting process
  • Communicate/collaborate with all Ariens Company business units
  • Any other duties assigned
THE QUALIFICATIONS…
  • Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting required
  • Minimum of five years’ related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • High level of proficiency with Excel is required; a command of Pivot table use within Excel is valuable and desired
  • Financial background within a global organization is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft AX or other ERP environments preferred
  • Experience with ERP implementations preferred
  • Experience with Fixed Asset policies and procedures preferred
