Responsibilities:
- Manages an effective Corporate Engineering Team to support the company's manufacturing and support facilities which includes, selecting, hiring, and managing internal as well as external engineering resources.
- Provides business and technical leadership necessary to ensure the team meets and/or exceed goals in critical manufacturing success areas (safety, quality, delivery, and cost).
- Promotes the continuous improvement process (e.g. behaviors, attitude and culture) necessary to build a productive environment that sustains improvements in support of business objectives.
- Provide leadership and management of engineering function to meet short and long-term company goals.
- Identifies and supports opportunities to close potential gaps related to our systems and/or processes. Finds the root cause of problems through leadership and persistent focus on process improvement.
- Prioritize, execute and monitor project work to deliver against safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
- Provide leadership that optimizes the talent contribution and development of multi-skilled teams.
- Work closely with other departments to align strategies and tactics for optimizing the availability of production lines.
- Fosters relationships across multiple company departments to solidify and improve information sharing, specifications and operational improvements to better develop the support within the organization
- B.S. (or higher) in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related field.
- 7 years+ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading Engineering/Production/Continuous Improvement within a similar industry/environment.
- Demonstrated experience in capital management across multiple facilities; source equipment; packaging design and layout within the food manufacturing industry.
- Ability to read/understand/create Process Instrumentation Diagrams, facility drawings and machinery approval drawings.
- SAP experience and knowledge of PLC’s (Allen Bradley) preferred.
- Experience with CPG packaging technology and automation preferred.
- Proven management experience of large, complex, multi-million dollar projects
- Working knowledge of simplification/improvement methodologies.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well across all functional areas of the business.
- Recognized technical abilities and practical experience with strong capabilities in the following areas:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to understand and apply general engineering principles
- Capital development/management and execution
- AutoCAD / Solid Works
- Ability to recognize and troubleshoot site specific process
- Must have strong analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Knowledgeable in building construction codes and of USDA, FDA regulations as they apply to the business.
