Transplant Coordinator - Kidney Acquisition Program - Days

Achieve beyond the bedside as a Coordinator for our world-renowned Kidney Transplant program, a career-making opportunity. In this role, you’ll assume front line responsibility for quality and continuity of care. And you’ll educate patients, families and other health care providers, while ensuring a seamless experience for patients.

Coordinates all aspects of patient care in the pre-transplant phase of kidney and pancreas transplant. Prepares potential candidates for transplantation by taking a multi-disciplinary approach and assessing patients’ individual needs. Coordinates organ placement for deceased donor transplants through shared on-call responsibility. Acts as liaison between referring dialysis centers and physicians.

Utilize exciting new modalities to help match donors and recipients. Our Extended Criteria Donor program uses advanced selection and preservation methods to make use of previously unusable organs, including those from older donors.

In this inspiring setting, you will be the face of a personalized, patient-focused approach. You’ll support patients’ pre-transplant needs. And you’ll make good on the promise of our hospital-wide mission Putting Patients First.

This is a full time, day shift position including on-call responsibilities plus holidays, working with our Kidney transplantation team at our Cornell campus. Location is Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Required Criteria:

  • New York Nursing License, Other clinical licensure may be substituted for RN License such as Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • In place of a Bachelor's degree 10 years experience as a Transplant Coordinator in a solid Organ Transplant program, Organ Procurement Organization or Dialysis Center may be considered
  • Knowledge of organ procurement

Preferred Criteria:

  • Master's Degree
  • CCTC
  • Three years of experience in coordinating a transplant program
  • 5 years experience as a RN in medical/surgical nursing with an ICU background

Key Criteria


We are seeking energetic, clinical professional with at least two years of experience in transplant in an acute care setting. Transplant coordinator experience is preferred but not required. Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants are encouraged to apply.
