Coordinator of Elementary ELA and Social Studies (2023-2024 school year)
Job description
The Texarkana Arkansas School District is seeking applicants for elementary level coordinator of ELA and Social Studies. This position requires an extended contract of 220 days per year.
The coordinator of elementary ELA and Social Studies will evaluate and provide leadership for the elementary instructional program of the district by overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of ELA and Social Studies curricula and assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must pass a national criminal background check and a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Calm and patient demeanor with students and others
Experience:
Three or more years experience as a classroom teacher
Two years experience in instructional leadership role
