Coordinator for Volunteers, Events & Communications
Job description
St. Francis of Assisi Parish is in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, located in rural Howard County, midway between Baltimore and Washington D.C. The parish is linked in a pastorate with St. Louis Parish. Between the two parishes, there are 2000 people attending weekend Masses.
The Coordinator for Volunteers, Events, and Communications oversees the parish’s organizations, events, and volunteers. The Coordinator is expected to be present on Sundays for Masses and events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Connect new parishioners with appropriate volunteer opportunities.
- Recruit volunteers for committees and organizations, striving to incorporate different age and cultural groups.
- Serve as liaison to parish organizations in planning and scheduling their events
- Serve as liaison to parish outreach ministries and programs
- Monitor the effectiveness of parish hospitality and welcoming efforts.
- Serve as point person in coordinating parish-wide events
- Ensure all events have a designated leader
- Be present at events as necessary
- Plan Annual Parish calendar in collaboration with the parish staff
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- A practicing Catholic with a passion for the mission of the Catholic Church
- Experience in parish ministry as an employee or volunteer
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and adaptable to learn church software
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, and the use of office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
